Pawn (2020 South Korean Film)
Pawn (Korean: 담보; RR: Dambo) is a 2020 South Korean drama film directed by Kang Dae-Kyu. The film explores the emotional relationship between a debt collector and a young girl who becomes his collateral.

Plot
Set in Incheon, South Korea, in 1993, the story follows Doo-Seok (Sung Dong-Il), a debt collector who maintains a tough exterior but possesses a compassionate nature. During a collection attempt, he encounters Myung-Ja (Kim Yunjin), an illegal immigrant. When she is unable to pay her debt, she leaves her young daughter, Seung-Yi (Park So-Yi), as collateral. Following Myung-Ja's deportation, Doo-Seok unexpectedly assumes the role of guardian for the child. The narrative follows their evolving bond as Seung-Yi grows into adulthood, portrayed by Ha Ji-Won.
Production
The film was directed by Kang Dae-Kyu, with a screenplay written by Yoon Je-Kyun and Son Joo-Yeon. Principal photography commenced on April 22, 2019, and concluded on July 31, 2019. The role of the young Seung-Yi was awarded to Park So-Yi following an audition process that included approximately 300 candidates.
