Plot

The story follows Seo Yoo-Kyung, played by Kong Hyo-Jin, who has worked as a kitchen assistant at La Sfera for three years. Her career trajectory changes when a new executive chef, Choi Hyun-Wook (Lee Sun-Kyun), is hired. Choi, a talented chef trained in Italy, immediately implements strict reforms, including the dismissal of the female kitchen staff. The narrative follows Yoo-Kyung's efforts to advance her culinary career under Choi's demanding leadership while navigating their evolving relationship.

The series also features Oh Sae-Young (Lee Ha-Nee), a talented chef with a history with Choi from their time in Italy, and Kim San (Alex), the restaurant's owner who hides his identity while harboring feelings for Yoo-Kyung.

Production

The series was directed by Kwon Seok-Jang and written by Seo Sook-Hyang. It occupied the Monday and Tuesday 21:55 time slot on MBC, succeeding The Great Queen Seondeok. The production utilized the metaphor of a cactus to represent the characters' growth and the challenges faced in their professional and romantic lives.
