Paroho (2022 Film)

Paroho (Korean: 파로호) is a South Korean thriller film released in 2022. Directed and written by Lim Sang-Su, the film explores themes of suspicion and psychological tension within a small village setting.

Plot

The story follows Do-Woo, a man who operates an aging motel near Paroho Lake. He lives with his mother, Yi-Soon, who suffers from dementia. Known in the local community for his devotion to his mother and his decision to remain unmarried, Do-Woo's reputation is challenged when his mother suddenly disappears. As the local residents begin to cast suspicion on him, his only apparent ally is a local hairdresser named Hye-Soo. The situation grows more complex with the arrival of a mysterious guest at the motel and the emergence of a woman working at a local coffee shop who takes an interest in him.
