Park Hae-il
Park Hae-il (born January 26, 1977) is a South Korean actor recognized for his extensive body of work in film. Since his debut in the early 2000s, he has established himself as a versatile performer, frequently collaborating with notable directors in both mainstream and independent cinema.
Career
Park began his career in the theater before transitioning to film with his debut in Waikiki Brothers (2001). He gained significant critical attention for his role in Bong Joon-ho's Memories of Murder (2003), where he played a primary suspect. Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, he appeared in a variety of genres, ranging from thrillers like The Host (2006) and Paradise Murdered (2007) to historical dramas such as War of the Arrows (2011) and The Fortress (2017).

In 2022, Park starred in Park Chan-wook's romantic mystery Decision to Leave, portraying a detective who becomes obsessed with a suspect. His performance in the film earned him several major acting honors, including Best Actor at the 43rd Blue Dragon Film Awards and the 58th Daejong Film Awards. In the same year, he portrayed the historical figure Yi Sun-sin in Hansan: Rising Dragon.
