Paran (2025 South Korean Film)

Paran (Korean: 파란) is a South Korean drama film released on April 9, 2025. Directed and written by Kang Dong-In, the film explores themes of moral conflict, guilt, and personal redemption. The production was distributed by Merry Christmas and features a runtime of 105 minutes.

Plot

The narrative centers on Yoon Tae-Hwa (Lee Soo-Hyuk), a member of the national shooting team who is suffering from a terminal lung disease. His survival depends on receiving a lung transplant from his father. However, Tae-Hwa is burdened by deep-seated guilt regarding his father's past involvement in a hit-and-run accident where the victim was abandoned.

In an attempt to reconcile with his conscience, Tae-Hwa seeks out the victim's daughter, Kwon Mi-Ji (Ha Yoon-Kyung). Their paths cross when he witnesses Mi-Ji committing a theft at a jewelry store. Choosing to remain silent about her crime, Tae-Hwa hopes this act of leniency might alleviate his own sense of guilt. Subsequently, Mi-Ji reveals new information regarding the circumstances of the hit-and-run, leading the two to embark on a search for her mother.
