Plot Overview

The narrative remains split across different eras. In the early 20th century, the story follows Kim Sun-ja as she navigates life as a Korean immigrant in Japan following her marriage to Baek Isak. In 1989, the story focuses on her grandson, Baek Solomon, as he attempts to advance his career in the corporate world while dealing with family complications in Tokyo.
