Orange Marmalade (South Korean TV Series)

Orange Marmalade is a South Korean television drama series that aired on KBS2 from May 15 to July 24, 2015. Directed by Lee Hyeong-Min and written by Moon So-San, the series is based on the webcomic of the same name by Seok Woo, which was serialized on Naver Webtoon from February 5, 2011, to January 4, 2014.

Plot

The story is set in a world where humans and vampires have signed a peace treaty 300 years prior, though social tensions remain. The narrative follows Jung Jae-Min, a popular high school student, and his relationship with a transfer student named Baek Ma-Ri, who secretly lives as a vampire.

Production

The production of Orange Marmalade began with the first script reading on March 13, 2015, at the KBS Annex Building in Yeouido, Seoul. Filming for the series commenced the following day, March 14, 2015. The drama occupied the KBS2 Friday 22:35 time slot, succeeding the series Spy and preceding Drama Special: What is the Ghost Up To?

Reception

At the 2015 KBS Drama Awards, held on December 31, 2015, Yeo Jin-Goo received the Best New Actor award, and Seol Hyun was honored with the Popularity Actress Award.
