On the Way to the Airport (Korean: 공항 가는 길; RR: Gonghang Ganeun Gil) is a South Korean television series that aired on KBS2 from September 21 to November 10, 2016. The drama, directed by Kim Cheol-kyu and written by Lee Sook-yun, consists of 16 episodes and explores the complexities of relationships, marriage, and emotional connection.
Plot Synopsis
The story follows Choi Soo-a (Kim Ha-neul), an assistant purser with 12 years of experience in the airline industry. She is married to a pilot and has a 12-year-old daughter. While she initially perceives her life as content, her perspective shifts after meeting Seo Do-woo (Lee Sang-yoon), a part-time architecture instructor. Do-woo, who is also married with a daughter, faces a life-altering incident that leaves him confused, leading to an unexpected bond between him and Soo-a.
Production
The series production included a script reading session held on July 25, 2016, at the KBS Broadcasting Station in Yeouido, South Korea. The drama occupied the Wednesday and Thursday 22:00 time slot on KBS2, succeeding Uncontrollably Fond and preceding Oh My Geum-bi.
