On the Verge of Insanity (Korean: 미치지 않고서야) is a South Korean television series that aired on MBC from June 23 to August 26, 2021. The drama centers on the professional challenges faced by employees at a consumer electronics company.

Plot

The story follows Choi Ban-seok (Jung Jae-young), a veteran developer at Hanmyung Electronics who faces a career crisis after 22 years of service. To avoid being laid off, he is transferred to the personnel department, a field in which he has no prior experience. There, he works alongside Dang Ja-young (Moon So-ri), the newly promoted leader of the personnel department. Ja-young is a driven professional with ambitions to become the company's first female executive. As they navigate the complexities of corporate life, their working relationship evolves.

Production and Broadcast

The series was directed by Kim Keun-hong and Choi Jung-in, with a screenplay written by Jung Do-yoon. It occupied the Wednesday and Thursday 21:00 time slot on MBC. The broadcast schedule experienced a temporary interruption when episode 11, originally slated for July 28, 2021, was rescheduled to August 11, 2021, due to the network's coverage of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
