Oh My Geum-Bi

Oh My Geum-Bi is a South Korean television drama series that aired on KBS2 from November 16, 2016, to January 11, 2017. The series consists of 16 episodes and was broadcast on Wednesday and Thursday nights at 22:00.

Plot

The story follows eight-year-old Geum-Bi, portrayed by Heo Jung-Eun, who is diagnosed with Niemann-Pick disease type C, a condition often referred to as childhood dementia. As she begins to lose her memory, she reconnects with her father, Mo Hwi-Chul (Oh Ji-Ho), a small-time swindler. Through the process of caring for his daughter, Hwi-Chul undergoes a personal transformation, learning to appreciate the value of his life and his responsibilities. The narrative also features Go Gang-Hee (Park Jin-Hee), who becomes a significant figure in their lives.

Production

The series was directed by Kim Young-Jo and written by Jeon Ho-Sung. The first script reading for the production took place on October 17, 2016, at the KBS Annex Building in Yeouido, South Korea. The drama occupied the Wednesday and Thursday 22:00 time slot on KBS2, following the conclusion of On the Way to the Airport and preceding Naked Fireman.

Awards

At the 2016 KBS Drama Awards, Heo Jung-Eun received the award for Best Child Actress. Additionally, the duo of Oh Ji-Ho and Heo Jung-Eun was honored with the Best Couple Award.
