Ode to the Goose (Korean: 군산: 거위를 노래하다; RR: Gunsan: Geowireul Noraehada) is a 2018 South Korean drama film written and directed by Zhang Lu. The film explores themes of memory, identity, and human connection through the journey of its protagonists.

Plot

The story follows Yoon-Young (Park Hae-il), a former poet, and Song-Hyun (Moon So-ri). Following Song-Hyun's divorce from her husband, the two embark on an impulsive trip to the coastal city of Gunsan. Upon their arrival, they check into a guesthouse. As the narrative unfolds, the relationships between the travelers and the local residents become complex; Song-Hyun develops an interest in the guesthouse owner (Jung Jin-Young), while the owner's daughter, Joo-Eun (Park So-dam), finds herself drawn to Yoon-Young.

Production and Release

Ode to the Goose was directed and written by Zhang Lu. The film held its world premiere on October 5, 2018, at the Busan International Film Festival. It was subsequently released in South Korean theaters on November 8, 2018. The film has a runtime of 121 minutes.
