Oasis (South Korean Television Series)

Oasis is a South Korean television series that aired on KBS2 in 2023. The drama is set against the backdrop of South Korea's turbulent social and political landscape during the 1980s and 1990s, following the lives of three young people as they navigate dreams, friendship, and love.

Plot

The story centers on Lee Doo-Hak, a high school student from a humble background who is known for his intelligence and compassionate nature. His life takes a dramatic turn following an unexpected incident. During his youth, he encounters Oh Jung-Shin, a confident and principled transfer student from Seoul who is unafraid to challenge injustice. The narrative also features Choi Cheol-Woong, a childhood friend and rival of Lee Doo-Hak, who struggles with the inability to accept defeat, particularly regarding his unrequited feelings for Oh Jung-Shin.

Production

The series was directed by Han Hee and written by Jung Hyung-Soo. Filming for the production commenced in South Korea in September 2022. The show aired on KBS2 on Monday and Tuesday nights at 21:50, spanning 16 episodes from March 6 to April 25, 2023. It occupied the time slot previously held by Brain Works and was succeeded by My Perfect Stranger.
