Nyokei Kazoku (2005 TV Series)

Nyokei Kazoku (Japanese: 女系家族) is a Japanese television drama series that aired on the TBS network in 2005. The series is based on the novel of the same name written by Toyoko Yamasaki. The drama consists of 11 episodes and was broadcast from July 7 to September 15, 2005, in the 21:00–21:54 time slot.

Plot

The story centers on the inheritance conflict following the death of the patriarch of a long-standing family business. The sudden passing of the head of the family triggers a power struggle involving his three daughters and his mistress, who is of modest means and pregnant with his child.

Production

The series was directed by Masahiro Sakai, Kentaro Takemura, and Toshihiro Ito. The screenplay was adapted by Akemi Shimizu, based on the original literary work by Toyoko Yamasaki. The production was overseen by producer Mitsuaki Arai.
