Not Others (South Korean Television Series)
Not Others (Korean: 남남; RR: Namnam) is a South Korean television series that aired in 2023. The show is a comedy-drama that explores the complex relationship between a mother and her daughter. It was broadcast on the ENA network and Genie TV.
Plot
The series centers on Kim Eun-Mi (Jeon Hye-Jin), a woman who became a single mother during her high school years and raised her daughter, Kim Jin-Hee (Sooyoung), on her own. Now in her 40s, Eun-Mi works as a physical therapist, while her 29-year-old daughter, Jin-Hee, serves as a police officer at the Namchon Police Substation. Despite their frequent bickering, the two share a deep and resilient family bond. The narrative expands when a mysterious doctor named Park Jin-Hong (Ahn Jae-Wook) enters Eun-Mi's life, and Eun Jae-Won (Park Sung-Hoon) is demoted to the same police substation where Jin-Hee works.
Production
Not Others is based on the webcomic Namnam, written by Jung Young-Rong, which was serialized on Kakao from August 23, 2019, to February 18, 2022. The television adaptation was directed by Lee Min-Woo with a screenplay by Min Sun-Ae. The series consisted of 12 episodes and occupied the Monday and Tuesday 22:00 time slot on ENA, airing from July 17 to August 22, 2023. It followed the conclusion of Lies Hidden In My Garden and was succeeded by New Recruit 2.
