Northern Limit Line (2015 Film)
Northern Limit Line (Korean: 연평해전; RR: Yeonpyeong Haejeon) is a 2015 South Korean war film directed by Kim Hak-Soon. The film dramatizes the events of the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong, a naval skirmish that occurred on June 29, 2002, between North and South Korean forces.

Background
The film is based on the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong, which took place during the 2002 FIFA World Cup. On June 29, 2002, a North Korean patrol boat crossed the Northern Limit Line—the disputed maritime boundary between North and South Korea—and initiated a surprise attack on the South Korean patrol boat Chamsuri 357. The engagement resulted in the destruction of the South Korean vessel, the death of six South Korean sailors, and injuries to 18 others.
Production
Directed and written by Kim Hak-Soon, the film was produced by Kim Hak-Soon, Park Se-Hwan, and Jung Moon-Gu. Principal photography commenced on July 28, 2014, in Jinhae, South Korea, and concluded in mid-December 2014. The film was distributed by Next Entertainment World and released in South Korea on June 24, 2015.
