Norichika Oba

Norichika Oba (Japanese: 大庭功睦) is a Japanese film director and screenwriter born in 1978.

Directing Career

Oba has directed several film and television projects. His directorial credits in feature films include Cyclops (2019) and Runway (2020). In television, he directed the Netflix drama series Straight to Hell (Jigoku ni Ochiru wayo), scheduled for release in 2026.

Screenwriting

In addition to directing, Oba works as a screenwriter. He wrote the screenplay for his 2019 directorial feature Cyclops and contributed to writing projects such as Bullet Train Explosion (Shinkansen Daibakuha) in 2025.
