No Tears for the Dead (Korean: 우는 남자; RR: Wooneun Namja) is a 2014 South Korean action thriller film written and directed by Lee Jeong-beom. The film follows the story of an assassin who experiences a crisis of conscience after a mission goes wrong, leading him to a final assignment in South Korea.

Plot

Gon, a professional assassin operating in the United States, accidentally kills an innocent child during a botched mission. The trauma of this event leaves him deeply conflicted and regretful. He is subsequently tasked with a new assignment in South Korea, where he must target a woman named Mo-kyung, who has recently suffered the loss of her husband and daughter.

Production

The film was directed by Lee Jeong-beom. Principal photography commenced on September 30, 2013, and concluded on February 19, 2014. During the casting process, actress Lim Soo-jung was initially selected for the role of Mo-kyung, but she withdrew from the project due to scheduling conflicts.

The film was released in South Korea on June 4, 2014, by CJ Entertainment. It was screened at several international film festivals, including the 18th Fantasia Film Festival in 2014, the 47th Sitges Film Festival in 2014, and the 33rd Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival in 2015.
