Neighborhood's Hero

Neighborhood's Hero (Korean: 동네의 영웅; RR: Dongneui Youngwoong) is a South Korean television series that aired on the cable network OCN. The series, which consists of 16 episodes, was broadcast on Saturdays and Sundays at 23:00 from January 23 to March 13, 2016.

Plot

The story follows Baek Shi-Yoon (played by Park Si-Hoo), a former secret agent who hides his past by purchasing and operating a bar named "Neighborhood." While managing the establishment, he develops close relationships with the local regulars and becomes sympathetic to their struggles. The narrative centers on his mentorship of a young man aspiring to become a police officer, whom he trains in the skills of a secret agent. Together, they work to combat local threats.

Production

The series was directed by Kwak Jung-Hwan and written by Jang Min-Suk. Filming for the production commenced in October 2015, with location shooting taking place in Macau during the middle of that month. The series occupied the Saturday and Sunday 23:00 time slot on OCN, succeeding Cheo Yong 2 and preceding Vampire Detective.
