Natalie (2010 Film)

Natalie (Korean: 나탈리) is a 2010 South Korean romantic drama film directed by Joo Kyung-Jung. The film is historically significant in the South Korean film industry as the first domestic production to be filmed and released in 3D.

Plot

The narrative centers on a mysterious sculpture titled Natalie, which depicts the form of an unknown woman. During an art exhibition, the sculptor, Hwang Jun-Hyuk (played by Lee Sung-Jae), recounts his past experiences to an art critic named Jang Min-Woo (Kim Ji-Hoon). The conversation focuses on Jun-Hyuk's intense romantic affair with a modern dance student named Oh Mi-Ran (Park Hyun-Jin). As the two men discuss their conflicting memories and perspectives regarding Mi-Ran, the secrets surrounding her identity and their shared history begin to emerge.

Production

The film was directed by Joo Kyung-Jung, with a screenplay written by Kim Wook. Production for the project took place between May and September 2010. Upon its release on October 28, 2010, the film was marketed as the first Korean 3D feature film to receive a theatrical release.
