Narco-Saints
Narco-Saints (Korean: 수리남; RR: Surinam) is a South Korean crime thriller television series released on Netflix on September 9, 2022. Directed by Yoon Jong-bin, the six-episode series follows the story of an ordinary entrepreneur who becomes involved in a high-stakes undercover operation to dismantle a drug-smuggling ring operating out of Suriname.

Plot
The narrative centers on Kang In-gu (played by Ha Jung-woo), a businessman who travels to Suriname seeking new opportunities. Upon his arrival, he finds himself ensnared in a dangerous situation involving Jeon Yo-hwan (Hwang Jung-min), a powerful drug kingpin who masks his illicit operations behind the guise of a religious leader. To secure his own safety and escape, Kang cooperates with the South Korean National Intelligence Service (NIS) to assist in the capture of the drug lord.
Production and Background
The screenplay is inspired by the real-life criminal activities of Jo Bong-haeng, who established a massive drug-trafficking network in Suriname during the late 1990s and early 2000s. The series dramatizes the efforts of law enforcement to infiltrate and dismantle this organization.
