The film is based on the webcomic Nanashi, written by Jiro Sato and illustrated by Ryo Nagata. The webcomic was serialized on Hero's Web between October 18, 2024, and December 12, 2025. The screenplay for the cinematic adaptation was co-written by Jiro Sato and director Hideo Jojo. Production was managed by producer Yumiko Takebe, with Masaki Watanabe serving as cinematographer.
Plot Synopsis
An inexplicable mass killing occurs in broad daylight at a restaurant. Security camera footage captures a middle-aged man slashing victims to death without holding any visible weapon, leaving investigating police baffled. Authorities identify the suspect as Taro Yamada, portrayed by Jiro Sato. Upon searching Yamada's residence, police discover the decomposed body of an unidentified woman.
