My Sweet Mobster

My Sweet Mobster (Korean: 놀아주는 여자; RR: Nolajooneun Yeoja) is a South Korean television series that aired on JTBC from June 12 to August 1, 2024. The 16-episode romantic comedy-drama was directed by Kim Young-Hwan and Kim Woo-Hyeon. The series is based on the web novel of the same name, written by Park Soo-Jung and illustrated by Yool-Pi, which was serialized on Naver from October 2019 to April 2020.

Plot

The story follows Seo Ji-Hwan (played by Um Tae-Goo), a former gangster who has transitioned into a legitimate businessman. As the CEO of a company, he focuses on hiring individuals with criminal records who have been released from prison, aiming to help them reintegrate into society and abandon their past lives. His path crosses with Go Eun-Ha (played by Han Sun-Hwa), a children's content creator known as "Mini Sister." Eun-Ha runs a small-scale YouTube channel dedicated to spreading joy and love, inspired by a childhood memory of a boy who was the only person to play with her. Their lives become intertwined after an accidental encounter during one of Eun-Ha's part-time jobs.

Production and Release

The series occupied the Wednesday and Thursday 20:50 time slot on JTBC, succeeding the drama Frankly Speaking. The production features a large ensemble cast, including Kwon Yool as Jang Hyun-Woo, alongside various supporting actors portraying employees of Seo Ji-Hwan's company and members of Eun-Ha's social circle.
