My Girlfriend Is an Agent (Korean: 7급 공무원; RR: 7Keup Kongmuwon) is a 2009 South Korean romantic action-comedy film directed by Shin Tae-ra. The title refers to the 7th-level civil servant ranking in the South Korean public service system, where ranks range from 9th (lowest) to 1st (highest).

Plot
The story follows Ahn Su-ji (Kim Ha-neul), a secret agent working undercover as a real estate agent. Her boyfriend, Lee Jae-joon (Kang Ji-hwan), becomes frustrated by her frequent disappearances and vague excuses, eventually deciding to leave her and the country. Their relationship ends abruptly when Su-ji is unable to answer his final call from Incheon International Airport due to an urgent undercover mission.
Three years later, Su-ji is tasked with investigating a Russian organized crime group involved in biological weapons. During her assignment, she encounters Jae-joon, who has returned to Korea. Unbeknownst to Su-ji, Jae-joon is also a secret agent working for a different department, and he has been assigned to track the same criminal organization. As the former lovers reconnect, they must navigate their rekindled romance while maintaining their respective covers and preventing the acquisition of a weapon of mass destruction.


Production and Reception
The film was directed by Shin Tae-ra and written by Chun Sung-il. The lead actors, Kim Ha-neul and Kang Ji-hwan, had previously worked together on the 2006 MBC drama 90 Days, Time to Love. Upon its release on April 23, 2009, the film achieved commercial success in South Korea, opening at number one at the box office with 465,634 tickets sold during its opening weekend. Throughout its theatrical run, it sold approximately 4 million tickets and grossed 26.3 billion KRW.
