My Girl (2009 Japanese TV Series)

My Girl (Japanese: マイガール) is a Japanese television drama series that aired on TV Asahi in 2009. The series is based on the manga of the same name by Sumomo Yumeka. It follows the story of Masamune Kazama, a man who finds his life transformed after learning about the existence of his young daughter following the death of his former girlfriend.

Plot

Masamune Kazama, portrayed by Masaki Aiba, works as an assistant in a photography studio. Six years after his girlfriend Yoko Tsukamoto left him, he remains unable to move on from their relationship. His life changes abruptly when he receives news of Yoko's death. He discovers that she had a five-year-old daughter named Koharu, who is revealed to be his own child. The series depicts the challenges and emotional growth of Masamune as he assumes the role of a father to Koharu.
