My Fellow Citizens
My Fellow Citizens (Korean: 국민 여러분; RR: Gukmin Yeoreoboon) is a South Korean television series that aired on KBS2 from April 1 to May 28, 2019. The series, directed by Kim Jung-hyun and written by Han Jung-hoon, consists of 36 episodes and was broadcast in the Monday and Tuesday 22:00 time slot.
Plot
The story follows Yang Jung-kook (Choi Si-won), a veteran conman who has managed to avoid arrest throughout his career. After his girlfriend absconds with their marriage savings, he encounters Kim Mi-young (Lee Yoo-young), who is dealing with her own relationship betrayal. The two find solace in each other and eventually marry. On their wedding day, Mi-young reveals that she is actually a police detective.
The narrative shifts when Park Hoo-ja (Kim Min-jung), a powerful figure running a private loan business inherited from her father, tracks down Jung-kook. Because her father was previously swindled by him, she blackmails Jung-kook, forcing him to run for a seat in the National Assembly.

Production
The production held its first script reading in December 2018 in Gangchon, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The series occupied the KBS2 Monday and Tuesday time slot following the conclusion of My Lawyer, Mr. Joe 2: Crime and Punishment and was succeeded by Perfume in June 2019.
