My Dearest Self with Malice Aforethought (Japanese: 親愛なる僕へ殺意をこめて, Romaji: Shinai naru Boku e Satsui wo Komete) is a Japanese television suspense drama that aired on Fuji TV from October 5 to November 30, 2022. The drama is based on the webcomic Shinai naru Boku e Satsui wo Komete, written by Hajime Inoryuu and illustrated by Shota Ito. The original source material was serialized on the Comic Days platform from September 6, 2018, to September 7, 2020. The television adaptation was directed by Hiroaki Matsuyama, Kazuhiro Nishioka, Masashi Asami, and Shoichi Hosaka, with a screenplay by Michitaka Okada.
Plot
The story follows Eiji Urashima, a university student who appears to lead a normal life. However, he carries the heavy burden of being the son of a notorious serial killer who targeted female university students. Eiji begins to experience unexplained memory blackouts, leading him to fear that he may have developed an alternate personality. When a new series of murders occurs that mirrors his father's past crimes, Eiji finds himself a suspect and embarks on a desperate search for the truth. During his investigation, he encounters Nami, a young woman working at a date club who is also seeking justice for her murdered friend. Together, they attempt to uncover the identity of the true killer.
