Mr. Back (South Korean TV Series)

Mr. Back (Korean: 미스터 백; RR: Miseuteo Baek) is a South Korean television series that aired on MBC from November 5 to December 25, 2014. The drama, directed by Lee Sang-yeob and written by Choi Yoon-jung, is based on the novel Oldeumaen by Lee Jo-young, which was published in October 2014.

Plot

The story centers on Choi Go-bong, a wealthy but elderly chairman of a large corporation. After a sudden accident, he is transformed into a man in his 30s. This unexpected change allows him to experience life and love from a new perspective, fundamentally altering his outlook on his career and personal relationships.

Cast

The series features a large ensemble cast, led by Shin Ha-kyun in the dual role of the elderly and young Choi Go-bong, and Jang Na-ra as Eun Ha-soo.

The production held its first script reading in early October 2014 at the MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea. The series occupied the Wednesday and Thursday 21:55 time slot on MBC, following My Blooming Days and preceding Kill Me, Heal Me.

Reception

At the 2014 MBC Drama Awards, held on December 30, 2014, lead actors Shin Ha-kyun and Jang Na-ra were both recognized with Popularity Awards for their performances in the series.
