Mothers (2018 South Korean Film)
Mothers (Korean: 당신의 부탁; RR: Dangshinui Bootak) is a 2018 South Korean drama film written and directed by Lee Dong-Eun. The film explores the evolving relationship between a woman and her late husband's teenage son after they are forced to live together.

Plot
The story follows Hyo-Jin (Lim Soo-Jung), a 32-year-old woman struggling to cope two years after the death of her husband. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she begins living with Jong-Wook (Yoon Chan-Young), her late husband's 16-year-old son from a previous marriage. The narrative examines the challenges and emotional complexities of their forced cohabitation as they navigate grief and the formation of a new family dynamic.
Production
The film is based on the novel Dangshinui Bootak (also known as My Other Mother) by Lee Dong-Eun and illustrator Jeong Yi-Yong, which was published on February 25, 2015, by Esoop Publishing. The original story, titled Dangboo (Request), was the winner of the 2013 annual spring literary contest hosted by the newspaper The Dong-A Ilbo. Principal photography for the film took place between June 20, 2017, and July 27, 2017. The film premiered at the Busan International Film Festival in October 2017 before its general release in South Korea on April 19, 2018.
