Mom (2015 South Korean Television Series)

Mom (Korean: 엄마; RR: Eomma) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on the MBC network. The series, which consists of 50 episodes, was broadcast from September 5, 2015, to February 21, 2016, in the Saturday and Sunday 20:40 time slot. It followed the conclusion of Make a Woman Cry and was succeeded by Happy Home.

Plot

The story centers on Yoon Jung-Ae (played by Cha Hwa-Yeon), a woman who has spent her life raising her four children independently. As the children reach adulthood, the narrative explores the evolving dynamics between them and their mother, particularly focusing on their interest in her assets and the lack of emotional reciprocity they show toward her.

Production

The series was directed by Oh Kyung-Hoon and written by Kim Jung-Soo. The initial script reading for the production took place on July 16, 2015, at the MBC Ilsan Dream Center located in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. Actor Lee Tae-Sung was unable to attend the first script reading due to his mandatory military service, which he began on October 29, 2013, and concluded on July 28, 2015.
