Plot
Lee Su-cheol (Cho Jae-hyun) is a detective working in the civil petitions office. Despite his analytical skills, he is considered ineffective in the field. Seeking to prove his capabilities as a homicide detective, he accepts an undercover assignment in Mokpo. Adopting the alias 'Nam Ki-nam', he attempts to infiltrate the Sung-ki Family, a criminal group involved in illicit drug activities.
During his infiltration, Su-cheol encounters various complications, including the involvement of a district attorney, Lim Ja-kyeong (Song Seon-mi), and a rival criminal group, the Stingray Family. His mission becomes increasingly complex as he navigates internal power struggles within the Sung-ki Family, led by the group's leader, Seong-ki (Cha In-pyo). As Su-cheol gains the trust of the organization, he begins to develop a more nuanced understanding of the individuals involved, ultimately leading to a conflict between his professional duties and his personal experiences.
