Missing (Korean: 미씽: 사라진 여자; RR: Missing: Sarajin Yeoja) is a 2016 South Korean mystery drama film directed by Lee Eon-Hee. The film explores themes of motherhood, social alienation, and the desperation of a woman searching for her abducted child.

Plot

Ji-Sun (Uhm Ji-Won) is a working mother struggling to balance her career at a public relations firm with a contentious custody battle over her daughter, Da-Eun. To manage her responsibilities, she hires a Korean-Chinese nanny named Han-Mae (Kong Hyo-Jin). One evening, Ji-Sun returns home to find that both her daughter and the nanny have disappeared. As Ji-Sun launches a desperate search for her child, the narrative gradually uncovers the complex past and motivations of Han-Mae.

Production

The film was directed by Lee Eon-Hee, who also contributed to the screenplay alongside Hong Eun-Mi. Principal photography for the project commenced on July 28, 2015, and concluded on November 9, 2015. The film was distributed by Megabox Plus M and released in South Korea on November 30, 2016.
