Misa Shimizu
Misa Shimizu (清水美沙, Shimizu Misa) is a Japanese actress born on September 25, 1970, in Tokyo, Japan. Standing 165 cm tall with blood type A, she has built an extensive career spanning several decades in Japanese film and television.

Film Career
Shimizu began appearing in films in the late 1980s, starring in Shonan bakusozoku (1987). Throughout the 1990s, she established herself in Japanese cinema with roles in major productions such as Sumo Do, Sumo Don't (1992), Shall We Dance? (1996), and Shohei Imamura's The Eel (1997), as well as Dr. Akagi (1998). Her career continued into the 2000s and 2010s with diverse performances in films including Warm Water Under a Red Bridge (2001), The Sea Watches (2002), The Unbroken (2009), and Little Love Song (2019), up to recent roles such as Tonari no Stella (2025).
Television Work
In addition to her feature film credits, Shimizu has maintained an active presence in Japanese television dramas and TV movies. Her credits range from historical NHK taiga and period dramas like Samurai Banners (2007) and Chushingura: A 48th Loyal Retainer in Love (2016–2017) to contemporary series including Tokyo Control (2011), Massan (2014–2015), and Fuufu Bessei Deka (2026).
