Mirai Shida (志田 未来, born May 10, 1993) is a prominent Japanese actress born in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Active in television dramas, feature films, and voice acting, Shida has built a prolific career since her youth, earning critical recognition and numerous major awards within the Japanese entertainment industry.

Early Career and Recognition

Shida entered the Japanese television and film scene early, establishing herself through acclaimed performances in both television dramas and films. In 2005, she appeared in the popular television series Queen of the Classroom as Kazumi Kanda. Her breakout role came in 2006 when she starred in the high-profile drama Mother at Fourteen.

Transitioning successfully into adult and diverse character roles, Shida received the prestigious "Rookie of the Year" award at the 33rd Japan Academy Prize on March 5, 2010, for her performance in the film Nobody to Watch Over Me (2009). She also received the Elan D’or Award for Rookie of the Year on February 4, 2010.

Voice Acting and Notable Film Roles

Beyond live-action television and cinema, Shida has contributed her voice to prominent anime feature films. She famously voiced the title character Arietty in Studio Ghibli's animated film The Secret World of Arrietty (2010), directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi.
