Mental Coach Jegal

Mental Coach Jegal (Korean: 멘탈코치 제갈길) is a South Korean television series that aired on tvN from September 12 to November 1, 2022. The series consists of 16 episodes and was broadcast in the Monday and Tuesday 22:30 time slot.

Plot

The story centers on Jegal Gil, a former national taekwondo athlete who was permanently banned from the sport following an unprecedented incident. He eventually returns to the athlete's village, not as a competitor, but as a mental coach. His primary role is to assist athletes struggling with their performance and psychological well-being.

Among his clients is Cha Ga-Eul, a short-track speed skater who previously won a gold medal at the world championships but is currently experiencing a significant career slump. Ga-Eul is characterized by her reserved nature and difficulty in expressing emotions. Throughout the series, Jegal Gil also faces conflict with Ku Tae-Man, the director of the athletic association's human rights center, who was a former teammate and played a pivotal role in the events that led to Jegal's ban.
