Melo (2014 Film)

Melo is a South Korean drama film directed by Roy Lee. The film, which explores the complex and volatile relationship between a struggling woman and a wealthy painter, was released theatrically in South Korea on April 24, 2014.

Plot

The story follows Yoon-Seo (Kim Hye-Na), a woman working in a coffee shop who faces ongoing financial difficulties. Her life changes when she encounters Tae-In (Lee Sun-Ho), a talented and affluent painter. As the two begin a relationship, the narrative examines the underlying motives and tensions that define their connection.

Production

The film was written and directed by Roy Lee. Principal photography for Melo commenced on March 1, 2012, and concluded on April 19, 2012. The film was produced by Shin Ki-Seub and Kim Jamie, with cinematography by Shin Im-Ho.

Release and Festivals

Melo held its world premiere at the 17th Busan International Film Festival on October 7, 2012, where it was screened as part of the Korean Cinema Today - Vision section. The film was later distributed by Boxoo Entertainment for its general release in 2014.
