Medium: Detective Hisui Jozuka
Medium: Detective Hisui Jozuka (Japanese: 霊媒探偵・城塚翡翠, Hepburn: Reibai Tantei Jozuka Hisui) is a Japanese television drama series that aired on NTV in 2022. The series is based on the mystery novel Medium: Reibai Tantei Jozuka Hisui, written by Sako Aizawa and published by Kodansha in 2019.
Plot
The story follows Hisui Jozuka (played by Kaya Kiyohara), a young woman who possesses the ability to communicate with spirits and identify murderers. Because her supernatural abilities are not admissible as legal evidence, she struggles to assist law enforcement directly. Her life changes when she encounters Shiro Kogetsu (Koji Seto), a mystery writer who collaborates with the police. Together, they work to solve complex criminal cases.
Production and Broadcast
The series consists of five episodes and was broadcast on NTV's Sunday 22:30 time slot from October 16 to November 13, 2022. It followed the series New Nobunaga Chronicle: High School is a Battlefield and was succeeded by Invert: Jozuka Hisui Toujoshu on November 20, 2022. The series achieved an average viewership rating of 5.3% in the Kanto region.
