Masayuki Kusumi Japanese Cartoonist and Writer

Masayuki Kusumi (born July 15, 1958) is a prominent Japanese cartoonist and essayist. He is widely recognized for creating original manga works that have been successfully adapted into television drama series, most notably the long-running franchise Solitary Gourmet (Kodoku no Gurume).

Career and Major Works

As a creator, Kusumi's written and illustrated works have served as the source material for numerous television adaptations broadcast by networks such as TV Tokyo. His most notable creation, Solitary Gourmet, follows the solitary dining experiences of protagonist Goro Inogashira and has spanned multiple television seasons, television movies, and special features since its initial live-action adaptation debut in 2012. In addition to his manga contributions, Kusumi has occasionally made cameo appearances in television drama adaptations of his work, including multiple seasons of Solitary Gourmet and Hana's Lazy Meals.
