Masaya Kakei

Masaya Kakei (Japanese: 筧昌也) is a Japanese film and television director and writer born on November 2, 1977, in Tokyo, Japan.

Directing Career

Kakei has directed various films and television series throughout his career. His directorial film credits include Tiger: My Life as a Cat (2019), Tokyo Onlypic (2008), Sweet Rain (2008), Have a Nice Day (2007), and Bijocan (2004).

In television, he has directed numerous drama series and television films, such as Tokyo Middle 30 (2026), Parallel Fufu (2025), Yips (2024), Snack Kizutsuki (2021), The High School Heroes (2021), The Smartphone Guy (2017), Sutekina Sen Taxi (2014), and Loss:Time:Life (2008).
