Man Who Dies to Live (Korean: 죽어야 사는 남자; RR: Jookeoya Saneun Namja) is a South Korean television series that aired on MBC from July 19 to August 24, 2017. The drama was directed by Ko Dong-sun and written by Kim Sun-hee. It occupied the network's Wednesday and Thursday 22:00 time slot, airing two 35-minute episodes per day.

Plot

The story follows Jang Dal-goo (Choi Min-soo), a man who traveled to the Middle East in the late 1970s and achieved significant success, eventually becoming Count Souad Fahd Ali. Decades later, he returns to South Korea to reconnect with his long-lost daughter, Lee Ji-young (Gang Ye-won). Upon his return, he encounters his daughter and her husband, Kang Ho-rim (Shin Sung-rok). The narrative centers on the family dynamics and the challenges of their unexpected reunion.

Reception

At the 2017 MBC Drama Awards, actor Shin Sung-rok received the award for Excellent Actor in a mini-series for his performance in the show.
