Maggie (2018 Film)

Maggie (Korean: 메기) is a 2018 South Korean feature film written and directed by Yi Ok-seop. The film premiered at the 23rd Busan International Film Festival in October 2018 and was subsequently released in South Korean theaters on September 26, 2019.

Plot

The narrative centers on a hospital where an x-ray depicting two people engaged in sexual activity is discovered. Nurse Yoon-young, played by Lee Joo-young, suspects she is one of the individuals in the image and prepares to resign. Upon returning to the hospital the following day, she finds the facility largely deserted, as most staff members have called in sick, fearing their own potential involvement in the scandal. Only the head doctor, Lee Kyung-jin (Moon So-ri), remains. Parallel to this, the city of Seoul experiences the sudden appearance of mysterious sinkholes, a phenomenon that impacts the life of Yoon-young's boyfriend, Sung-won (Koo Kyo-hwan), who is employed to fill them.
