Love Rain (South Korean Television Series)

Love Rain (Korean: 사랑비; RR: Sarangbi) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on KBS2 in 2012. Directed by Yoon Seok-ho and written by Oh Soo-yun, the series explores the nature of love through two distinct timelines: the 1970s and the present day.

Production

The production of Love Rain began on September 24, 2011, with the initial shoot taking place at Keimyung University in Daegu, South Korea. The series was broadcast in the Monday and Tuesday 21:55 time slot on KBS2, succeeding Dream High 2. It concluded its 20-episode run on May 29, 2012, and was followed by the series Big.

In early 2012, the production team moved to Hokkaido, Japan, for a 10-day filming schedule starting on February 28. These scenes focused on the character of Seo Joon, a photographer, and his initial encounter with Jung Ha-na.

Plot Overview

The narrative is split between two eras. The 1970s storyline follows Seo In-ha, an art student, and Kim Yoon-hee, who meet on a university campus. Their budding romance is characterized by the innocence of the era. The present-day storyline shifts to the children of the original characters, Seo Joon and Jung Ha-na, who meet in Hokkaido. Their relationship develops in a more contemporary setting, contrasting with the experiences of their parents.
