Love, Lies (2016 Film)

Love, Lies (Korean: 해어화; RR: Haeuhhwa) is a 2016 South Korean period drama film directed by Park Heung-sik. Set during the 1940s, the narrative explores the lives of two gisaeng and a songwriter against the backdrop of the Japanese occupation of Korea. The film's title, Haeuhhwa, translates to "flower that understands words," a historical term used to refer to gisaeng.

Production

The film was produced by Park Sun-jin and distributed by Lotte Entertainment. Principal photography commenced on June 21, 2015, and concluded on October 17, 2015. The production features a screenplay written by Ha Young-joon, Jeon Yun-su, and Song Hye-jin, with cinematography by Jo Eun-soo.
