Love Exposure (Korean: 어깨너머의 연인; RR: Eokkae Neomeoui Yeonin) is a 2007 South Korean romantic comedy film directed by Lee Eon-hee. The film explores the lives and relationships of two women navigating their thirties in modern society.

Plot

The narrative centers on the friendship between two women with contrasting perspectives on life and marriage. Seo Jung-wan (played by Lee Mi-yeon) is a 32-year-old photographer who values her independence and maintains an affair with a married man, showing no interest in traditional marriage. In contrast, her best friend, Yoon Hee-soo (played by Lee Tae-ran), is a confident woman who married her husband, Kim Hyung-sik (Yoon Je-moon), primarily for financial security. The dynamic between the two shifts as they face personal challenges and the realities of their respective choices.

Production and Background

The film is based on the Japanese novel Katagoshi no Koibito by Kei Yuikawa, which was published in September 2001 by Magazine House. The source material is notable for having won the 2001 Naoki Prize. The film adaptation was produced by Sidus Pictures and distributed by Showbox, with a theatrical release in South Korea on October 18, 2007.
