Live Your Own Life (Korean: 효심이네 각자도생) is a South Korean television series that aired on KBS2 from September 16, 2023, to March 17, 2024. The drama, directed by Kim Hyeong-Il and written by Jo Jung-Sun, consists of 51 episodes and was broadcast in the Saturday and Sunday 19:55 time slot.
Plot
The story follows Lee Hyo-Sim (played by Uee), who has served as the primary breadwinner for her family since graduating from high school. After her father abandoned the family during her childhood, Hyo-Sim took on the responsibility of supporting her mother and siblings while working as a fitness trainer at a gym in Gangnam. The narrative centers on her journey toward establishing personal independence and the challenges her family faces as they attempt to become self-reliant. Throughout the series, Hyo-Sim becomes involved with Kang Tae-Ho (played by Ha-Joon), a confident and intelligent planning department director at a large corporation.
Production Notes
The series occupied the time slot previously held by The Real Has Come and was succeeded by Beauty and Mr. Romantic. The broadcast schedule experienced a one-week delay for the fifth episode, which moved from October 1, 2023, to October 8, 2023, due to the 19th Asian Games.
During production, the cast underwent a change following the death of actor No Yeong-Kuk, who passed away from a heart attack on September 18, 2023. He was replaced by Kim Kyu-Cheol in the role of Kang Jin-Bum. Kim began filming on October 3, 2023, and made his first appearance in the eighth episode, which aired on October 15, 2023.
