Lights and Shadows (Korean: 빛과 그림자; RR: Bichgwa Geulimja) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on MBC. The series, which spans several decades, follows the life of Kang Ki-Tae, a character portrayed as a pioneering figure in the Korean entertainment industry. The narrative begins in the 1960s and tracks his career and personal development against the backdrop of significant historical events in South Korea, including the Vietnam War and the political shifts of the era.

Production and Broadcast

The series was directed by Lee Joo-Hwan, Yoon Ji-Hoon, and Lee Sang-Yeob, with a screenplay written by Choi Wan-Kyu. Production for the drama commenced on October 24, 2011. The show aired on MBC in the Monday and Tuesday 21:55 time slot. It premiered on November 28, 2011, and concluded its 64-episode run on July 3, 2012, after which it was followed by the series Golden Time.
