Light Shop (2024 South Korean Television Series)

Light Shop (Korean: 조명가게; RR: Jomyeonggage) is a South Korean supernatural television drama series that premiered on Disney+ in December 2024. The series consists of eight episodes and is based on the webcomic of the same name by writer Kang Pool, which was serialized on Kakao from August to December 2011.

Premise

The narrative centers on a mysterious light shop and its proprietor. While the store appears to be a mundane establishment, it serves as a unique intersection for the living and the dead. The shop is frequently visited by spirits, including those caught in the threshold between life and death, each carrying their own unresolved stories.

Production

The series marks the directorial debut of veteran actor Kim Hee-Won. This project represents a continued collaboration between director Kim Hee-Won and screenwriter Kang Pool, who previously worked together on the 2023 Disney+ series Moving.
