Lies Hidden in My Garden

Lies Hidden in My Garden (Korean: 마당이 있는 집; RR: Madangyi Itneun Jib) is a South Korean television series that aired on the ENA network in 2023. The thriller drama consists of eight episodes and was broadcast from June 19 to July 11, 2023, occupying the Monday and Tuesday 22:00 time slot.

The series is based on the novel of the same name by author Kim Jin-Young, which was published on April 30, 2018, by Elixir.

Plot

The narrative centers on two women living vastly different lives whose paths cross due to a mysterious discovery. Moon Joo-Ran (played by Kim Tae-Hee) is a housewife from a wealthy background who lives in a house with a yard alongside her husband, Park Jae-Ho (Kim Sung-Oh), a doctor. Her life is disrupted when she detects a strange, unpleasant odor emanating from her backyard, prompting her to investigate her husband's activities.

Simultaneously, the story follows Chu Sang-Eun (Lim Ji-Yeon), a woman struggling with extreme poverty and domestic abuse at the hands of her husband, Kim Yoon-Beom (Choi Jae-Rim). The lives of these two women collide following the sudden death of Kim Yoon-Beom.

Production

The series was directed by Jung Ji-Hyun, with the screenplay adapted by Ji A-Ni. It premiered on ENA and Genie TV, succeeding the series Oh! Young-Sim in its time slot and preceding the broadcast of Not Others.
