Let's Eat (South Korean TV series)

Let's Eat (Korean: 식샤를 합시다; RR: Shiksyareul Habshida) is a South Korean television series that aired on the cable network tvN from November 28, 2013, to March 13, 2014. The series, directed by Park Joon-Hwa, explores the daily lives, social interactions, and romantic entanglements of single people living in the same apartment complex, with a particular focus on their shared passion for gourmet food.

Plot

The narrative centers on Lee Soo-Kyung, a 33-year-old divorcee who lives alone and attempts to maintain a dignified lifestyle. Despite her efforts to remain composed, she struggles to control her behavior when confronted with high-quality cuisine. Her life intersects with her neighbor, Koo Dae-Young, a self-proclaimed gourmet who possesses a talent for vividly describing the flavors and textures of food. While Dae-Young is often prone to dishonesty, he is portrayed as a considerate individual. The series also incorporates a subplot involving a murder investigation within their neighborhood.

Production

The first script reading for the series occurred on October 22, 2013, at the CJ E&M Center in Sangam-dong, Seoul. The show was developed as the first installment in the Let's Eat franchise, which later included two subsequent seasons released in 2015 and 2018.
