Lee Sung-Kyung: Biography, Career, and Filmography

Lee Sung-Kyung (born August 10, 1990) is a prominent South Korean actress and model. Known for her towering height and distinct features, she transitioned from a successful modeling career into television and film acting, earning widespread recognition across Asia for her diverse leading and supporting roles.

Early Career and Acting Breakthroughs

Lee began her entertainment career as a model, participating in local modeling contests before making her official acting debut in the 2014 SBS television series It's Alright, This Is Love, playing the supporting character Oh So-Nyeo. She subsequently gained further traction through roles in Flower of the Queen (2015) and Cheese in the Trap (2016), receiving a Best New Actress award at the 2015 MBC Drama Awards for her work in Flower of the Queen.

Her major career breakthrough came when she secured her first major leading role as title character Kim Bok-Joo in the MBC youth sports drama Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo (2016–2017). Her performance earned her the Excellence Award for an Actress in a Miniseries at the 2016 MBC Drama Awards.
