Law and the City

Law and the City (Korean: 서초동; RR: Seochodong) is a South Korean television drama series that premiered on tvN on July 5, 2025. The series, directed by Park Seung-Woo and written by Lee Seung-Hyun, consists of 12 episodes and aired during the Saturday and Sunday 21:20 time slot.

Plot

The narrative centers on Ahn Ju-Hyeong (played by Lee Jong-Suk), a lawyer characterized by his blunt honesty and pragmatic approach to his profession. Unlike traditional depictions of lawyers driven by a desire to protect the vulnerable or pursue abstract justice, Ahn is motivated primarily by logic and the intellectual challenge of legal cases. Having worked at the same firm for nine years, he has achieved significant professional recognition and a record salary for an associate. His comfortable, stable career is challenged when his established routine begins to face unexpected complications.

Setting

The series is set in the Seocho District of Seoul, a location historically recognized for its high concentration of legal offices. It is estimated that more than one-third of all practicing lawyers in Seoul maintain their offices within this district.

Production

Law and the City occupied the tvN Saturday and Sunday 21:20 time slot, succeeding the series Our Unwritten Seoul. It was followed in the same time slot by Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, which began airing on August 23, 2025.
